Indian Army violated the Line of Control in Mehndala village district Rawlakot on Friday 13 Dec at about 2 PM and entered into the homes when the men of the area were away from homes for Friday prayers. The women and children left their homes and ran away to save themselves. Later the men reached the spot and fired at the Indian Army personnel who fled to their post across the LoC.
This has been stated by the local people including Councillor Jameel Tahir Awan. Local people blocked the road and gave sit in for whole day but no authority from the district administration bothered to reach and satisfy them for their safety.
A large number of local people including the Councillor staged a protest on the road against irresponsible response from the Deputy Commissioner who rejected the statements of local people about the Indian Army’s infiltration into Azad Kashmir. They demanded for resignation of the DC.
Councillor Jameel stated on record , while talking to local journalist that Indian Army had infiltrated earlier as well. We informed the local defense officials but no action was taken. On Friday , 13 Dec, again Indian soldiers crossed LoC and broke into the homes. They entered into the kitchen and took eatables with them.

He said the local men gathered there when they heard women and children screaming in panic. Local people fired at the Indian soldiers and injured few of them while they were running away.
To a question that , do you have any evidence, video? Councillor Jameel replied ” Why we will tell a lie? Why they are asking proofs? What they are posted here for?”
Another local , Fani told the journalist that 25 to 30 Indian soldiers in uniform and weapons were seen there. I saw them while I was passing from there. Women and children were panicked and crying for help. One old woman asked me to save them.
A local man, Awais Butt shared the same number and said half of them were hiding. We fired at them. Later , 3 Pakistan Army soldiers reached the spot. We asked them to fire at Indian soldiers but they refused saying that they do not have orders of firing.
Councillor Jameel and other people who were protesting at the road in large number condemned the response from the Deputy Commissioner. They said that if the authorities can not provide us security, we will march towards LoC. We know how to protect our homes.
