    ISLAMABAD: 13 June 2025 – Iranian missiles struck multiple sites across central Israel, including Tel Aviv, triggering nationwide air raid sirens on the night of 13 June. The attack marks a major escalation amid ongoing tensions following earlier Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

    Iranian state media says at least two Israeli fighter jets have been shot down over Iran – this has not been independently verified.

    BBC, Reuters, TRT and other international media are reporting damage in Israel. Iran has launched an aerial attack on Israel in an operation it’s called True Promise 3 – responding to earlier Israeli attacks. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says it carried out attacks against “dozens of targets, military centres and airbases.”

    We’ve seen pictures of damaged buildings in Tel Aviv – the country’s ambulance service says at least five people have been injured.

    Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei says Iran “will inflict heavy blows” after Israel “launched war.”

    Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel’s fight is not with the Iranian people but with the country’s leadership, saying: “More is on the way. The regime does not know what hit them, or what will hit them. It has never been weaker”

    Iran launched less than 100 missiles in two waves towards Israel, Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Avichay Adraee says. In a post on X, he writes most of the missiles were intercepted or failed to reach their targets.

    “There are a limited number of buildings that were hit, some due to shrapnel from interception operations,” he adds.

    A total of 40 people are being treated in Israeli hospitals after the recent strikes – two are in critical condition.

    Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv is treating 18 patients.

    Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva is treating 7 people, including one critical patient.

    Sheba hospital in Ramat Gan is treating 15 patients, including the other critical patient.

    The injuries are varied, and include shrapnel damage, smoke inhalation and shock.

    A spokesman for the Israeli military has just issued a statement, saying that “after assessing the situation, the Home Front Command issued instructions that it is possible to leave the protected area and to continue to remain near it in all regions of the country.

    “You are requested to continue to obey the Home Front Command’s instructions and the instructions that are being distributed to you,” the statement adds.

    Irani news agency IRNA added ; A second round of strikes has begun on targets inside Israel, with Israeli media reporting huge explosions as Iranian missiles rain down.

    Reports say missiles were launched from the capital, Tehran, and Kermanshah, in western Iran, toward targets deep in Israel.

    Iran began retaliatory strikes on Israeli targets on Friday evening local time, after Israeli aggression targeted locations, including residential buildings, inside Iran.

    Vivid images and footage captured by Israelis show Iranian missiles exploding upon impact and creating massive fireballs.

    A senior Iranian military official, General Ahmad Vahidi said “Operation True Promise 3” — as the Iranian retaliatory strikes are dubbed — will continue for as long as necessary.

    Overnight on Friday, the Israeli regime began a series of military strikes in and near the Iranian capital, Tehran, as well as other Iranian cities. Simultaneously, and anticipating a devastating Iranian response, Israeli minister for military affairs Israel Katz declared a state of emergency across Israel.

    The Israeli military also carried out targeted strikes against Iran’s top military brass. Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri and Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami were killed in Tehran.

    Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new top military brass on the same day.

    According to Iran’s Envoy to the United Nations Sa’eed Iravani, 78 people, including senior military officials, have been killed and 320 injured so far in Israeli strikes.

    Meanwhile, in central Tehran, air defense systems were engaging Israeli drones and quadcopters, whizzing over neighborhoods in the night sky.
