IT Projects can help Pakistan pay its External Debts Back -Dr Zaidi – Briefs Tanya Aidrus on COMSATS

Executive Director COMSATS Dr S.M. Junaid Zaidi has said that if Government support our institution, we can develop information tech projects to a level where Pakistan can be able to pay  its external debts back. He has said that Debts can not be payed back with export of Kino or Onion.

Dr Zaidi suggested this in a meeting with special correspondent: Miss Tanya Aidrus Special Assistant to prime minister on digital Pakistan who  visited the COMSATS Internet Services (CIS)  pioneer ISP of Pakistan project of COMSATS Secretariat  to witness CIS Data center, Telemedicine services, COMSATS Software Solutions on 02 July 2020.

She was welcomed by Executive Director of COMSATS, Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi HI. SI and Chief Operating officer Nasir Jamal Khan at COMSATS Internet Services CIS Technology Park.

ED COMSATS shared his experiences of working with youth of the country and said that they have great potential in IT sector. He disclosed that COMSATS is launching digital games on its own efforts.

Miss Tanya Aidrus admired COMSATS Internet Services professional environment and IT superior services provided to Government and private sector across Pakistan.

On her visit to CIS gave a detailed presentation on the history and operations of the project. She was informed that COMSATS Internet Services (CIS) is the pioneer organization to introduce Internet services, Telemedicine Services in Pakistan. CIS has established a network of 19 offices across   Pakistan to serve Government organizations, SME and private organizations and internet in rural areas, he added.

She was further briefed that Tele medicine clinics at rural areas are connected via broadband internet to COMSATS Internet Services (CIS) Telemedicine Resource Center, Islamabad, where a panel of specialist doctors provides free medical consultation to patient visiting the telemedicine centers. The centers are equipped with latest equipment of video conferencing, IT infrastructure and necessary digital diagnostic systems.  Patients data is maintained on the web portal of COMSATS Internet Services (CIS) for future reference. Recently we in process of installation Telemedicine clinics in province of Baluchistan Government.

On the occasion was also present, DR. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, Executive Director OCMSATS, who briefed the Special Assistant about COMSATS Internet Services and different projects of CIS.  He informed that the purpose of the facilities developed by COMSATS Internet Services (CIS) is to serve the rural people in remote areas with no or little access to good IT facilities. “ Still more concentrated efforts are required to digitize  throughout Pakistan, one of the key strategies for bringing IT services to the door step of people of Pakistan, Dr. Zaidi said. “
