Kyrgyz Foreign Minister calls on Army Chief of Pakistan

Islamabad: On March 22, 2022, On the sidelines of the 48th session of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev had a bilateral meeting with the Chief of the Army staff of the Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of military-technical cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with particular emphasis on the need to combine efforts in order to counter modern challenges and threats, such as terrorism, extremism and its other manifestations.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev informed the Pakistani side about the focus of the Kyrgyz Republic on the development of regional cooperation and, in this regard, noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in terms of the exchange of experience between representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the two countries and the sending of Kyrgyz military personnel to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for training in the Pakistani military academies.

In his turn, General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed readiness for further effective cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in order to ensure peace and stability in the region.
