Like Mother Like Daughter – Aysha & Maham Showcases their Art Work @ Rawalpindi Arts Council

Art lovers may have visited many art exhibitions, but the exhibition that Aysha and Maham came up with called “Felicia” was unique in that it was the first exhibition where mother and daughter came together to entertain fans. Submitted your work for The exhibition drew a large number of art lovers to the Rawalpindi Arts Council Gallery on December 9-10 where the best artworks of Aysha and Maham were exhibited.

Aysha is Principal at City School Gulrez Rawalpindi and Maham is her daughter who is emerging young artist. Their work speaks volumes about the beauty of Pakistani landscape, country side life styles, Sufism, birds, flowers and everything that touches the heart of every human being.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Finance Secretary National Press Club Ms Nayyar Ali on 09 the of Dec 2022 and it continued on 10 Dec.A large number of art lovers poured in to visit the exhibition on both days.

Aysha while sharing her views said, ” Digitalization and creating art through apps has posed a challenge for the real artists. We need to keep the art alive and the exhibition is meant for this purpose. “Maham was asked, “Why you are in art work when majority of youth is busy in Tik Tok, Insta etc.”

She replied, ” When you shift your thoughts on the canvas, you feel a satisfaction that you have expressed your feelings and emotions. In today world , we the youth have to face many challenges like practical life issues, jobs scarcity etc. That is why I selected to paint what I see and feel.

Like mother like daughter were of the view that the art in Pakistan needs support to remain alive otherwise it is apprehended that it can meet to its end sooner or later.
