ISLAMABAD/ HANOI : Federal Minister Planning and Development , Ahsan Iqbal had a very productive meeting with the Mr. Đỗ Thành Trung Deputy Minister of Finance, Vietnam, along with Amb Marri where the sides held an in-depth discussion on Vietnam’s remarkable economic success and rise as an export-led economy.
In 1990, Vietnam’s exports stood at just $3 billion; today they have crossed $400 billion. By comparison, Pakistan’s exports in 1990 were $6 billion, but today they stand at only $34 billion.
Minister observed that Pakistan can learn from Vietnam experiences to pursue a consistent export-led growth strategy. He shared that under the 5Es framework of URAAN Pakistan, Pakistan has placed Exports as the top priority.
“Pakistan must aspire, and work with unshakable resolve, to cross $100 billion in exports before 2035. This is not just an economic target—it is a national imperative for our prosperity and resilience, Minister said.
