Former President Musharraf has Arrived at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology AFIC Rawalpindi or not? That has not been confirmed by any gov or military source but one thing is clear that some VVIP is there or is expected there soon.
The sources from inside AFIC has confirmed that extra ordinary arrangements have been made around AFIC by Military Intelligence. The staff and other concerned personnel have been issued special entry passes on 29th of June by MI.
No one can enter the premises without entry pass . Military Intelligence has cordoned off the area around AFIC. The matter has been kept so much top secret that even the other military agencies do not have any information about what or who the arrangements are for.
Here it is worth mentioning that Pervez Musharraf was in critical condition in Dubai hospital last week . The former dictator wished to be in country in his last days . PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif and his brother PM Shehbaz have already given No Objection as they do not take him as personal enemy.
Mr. Musharraf was sentenced to death by Peshawer High court couple of years ago. Later the Justice who passed the orders to hang Musharraf’s body if he does in exile, passed away himself suddenly. Authorities shared that he fell victim of COVID , the cause not accepted by many.
There is no tradition of accountability of military chiefs for toppling the governments, abrogating the constitution in Pakistan. Musharraf was first example to be trialed in courts but his colleagues rescued him off and later sent him out of country.
Pervez Musharraf can be facilitated by his parent department. He can be allowed by the government of Pakistan. But what about the courts where different cases are still pending for hearing and his appearance? He has been declared a fugitive in connection with the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and the murder of Imam of Lal Masjid. Musharraf is accused of article 6 of the constitution by imposing emergency in country and house arresting the judges of the superior courts.
Now when Mr. Musharraf wants to return to his homeland, I recall :
“Pakistan is Graveyard for Pakistanis – They leave Pakistan when they have wealth and health, when they are about to die, they long for return and be buried in Pakistan.”
Now when he is here or due soon , the nation is again at standstill weather the law will take its course against a military dictator or the law is for the public and bloody Civilian only?
