New developments in trade relations: Omani-Pakistani Business Forum

ISLAMABAD: Under the aegis of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Omani-Pakistani Business Forum was held in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of senior officials, diplomats and prominent businessmen from both the countries.
The aim of the forum is to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of trade, economy and investment. The role of the private sector has been highlighted, as the sides discussed joint investment opportunities and joint ventures.
During the forum, important areas of collaboration were highlighted, including food security, IT, education, textile industry and healthcare. The tourism, construction, automotive and sporting goods sectors were also considered vital areas of the bilateral partnership.
This forum is a fruit of the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which is working to promote investment and international economic cooperation in Pakistan. With the support of this Council, Pakistan continues to move forward towards consolidating its trade and economic relations in the region.
