Iran’s tough stand on nuclear enrichment and lack of trust with self styled President of Peace has brought the status of Islamabad talks process to the same position as it was on 5 AM April 12, that is , Failed, Deadlock, Stalemate, whatever.
Despite announcements by American media about the possibility of holding negotiations over the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), information obtained indicates that Iran still harbors serious doubts regarding US good faith and its willingness to avoid excessive demands.
Iran believes that due to Washington’s breach of commitments at the outset of the negotiations and the continuation of such conduct so far, a potential next round of talks is unlikely to yield results.
Trump’s side shared that Tehran slammed the door on fresh negotiations with the United States. After two days of closed-door meetings with Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir in the Iranian capital, Iranian officials declared new talks “of no benefit” without a pre-agreed framework first. They insist the US must honor its commitments and drop its “excessive demands.”
This comes straight from Iranian state media after the high-level huddle. Pakistan has stepped up as the main go-between following the collapse of direct talks in Islamabad weeks ago.
Those sessions failed when the US pushed for zero uranium enrichment and a long-term ban on Iran’s nuclear program.
Tehran refuses to budge on keeping some enrichment capability.
Tehran’s tough talk looks more like desperation than strength for Americans . Trump side says The ball is back in Washington’s court—no rushed deal that lets the mullahs keep their path to a bomb.
Iran has conveyed through Pakistani intermediaries that the United States must first fulfill its commitments and secondly abandon its habitual excessive demands in negotiations.
While the Pakistani mediator is seeking to arrange a second round of talks, Iran has stated that without completing the necessary preliminaries and reaching a proper framework, such negotiations would be unproductive.
