
ISLAMABAD : Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Tajikistan in the digital media.
He was talking to Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture Ms Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda who is on a special visit to Pakistan to celebrate Tajik Cultural Week.
The Information Minister noted that digital media plays a key role in public engagement, promoting cultural harmony and fostering positive narratives in today’s world.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of further promoting cultural and media cooperation, as well as people-to-people contacts, between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to formalize agreements to promote cultural cooperation during the expected visit of Tajikistan’s President to Pakistan.
The Information Minister noted that programs like the Pakistan-Tajik Cultural Festival provide a strong foundation to enhance connections and cultural cooperation between the peoples of both countries. He mentioned that there are centuries-old, deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
The Information Minister said Pakistan places great importance on cultural diplomacy.
The Tajik Minister said her country will continue its close cooperation with Pakistan in cultural exchanges and the digital media. She said the shared literary and cultural heritage will be highlighted to strengthen relations between the two countries.
