Pakistan Belarus Finalize Extradition Treaty ! Agree to Enhance Cooperation in Counter-Terrorism, Anti-Narcotics and Border Security

Islamabad: During his visit to Pakistan, Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov visited Ministry of Interior, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the Honorable guest on his arrival.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a one on one meeting with Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov which was followed by delegation-level talks. During the meeting, Bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest were discussed in detail.

It was agreed to increase cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus in the fields of counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, border security and police training. Moreover, the extradition agreement between Belarus and Pakistan was finalized and protocol was signed for its implementation. Furthermore, It was agreed to form a joint working group between the two sides.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the establishment of a joint working group would be beneficial in promoting relations between the two countries. It was also decided to sign a memorandum of understanding to increase cooperation in the field of counter-narcotics soon.

A police training exchange program was also agreed between the two countries. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan values ​​its relations with Belarus and is keen to further enhance these relations in all fields.

Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Government of Belarus and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis is a welcome step, under this agreement, thousands of Pakistanis will go to Belarus for employment. He stressed that we will make every effort to send the best manpower to Belarus after thorough screening.

The Belarusian Interior Minister said that, we want to promote mutual cooperation with Pakistan in all fields. He invited Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to visit Belarus. The Belarusian Interior Minister said that your visit will help in promoting relations between the two countries.

He added that Pakistanis are known as a hardworking nation. The Belarusian Interior Minister thanked the government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Interior for their hospitality. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Secretary Interior, Special Secretary and Additional Secretaries Interior, Commandant NPA, DG NCCIA, Director Anti-Narcotics Force and relevant officials were also present on the occasion.
