Pakistan Indonesia Discuss Joint Ventures & Regular Exchanges in Defence

Islamabad: 19 Oct 2022 – H.E.Adam M Tugio, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia called on Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif here at his office in Islamabad today. Defence Minister welcomed the dignitary and conveyed that Pakistan attaches great value to its relations with Indonesia which are governed by mutual respect and cooperation.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged the existing scope and scale of cooperation in the field of defence between the two countries and desired to undertake joint ventures in the respective field on a progressive basis.
Defence Minister expressed that Indonesia and Pakistan have maintained decades-old close and cordial relations which have historical roots. He mentioned that Pakistan and Indonesia have shared perceptions on important regional matters. He appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian Government for providing a platform for creating a favourable and long lasting peaceful environment in the Asia Pacific Region in the form of the Jakarta International Defence Dialogue (JIDD).
Moreover, Minister for defence reiterated that Pakistan strongly condemns terrorism in all its foras and manifestations. He commended the Indonesian Government’s success in fighting terrorism and its concerted efforts to dismantle terrorist networks.
He informed that regional and global stability, security and peace are our common goals. He expressed desire that Pakistan is looking forward to further strengthening bilateral relations with Indonesia’s defence industries vis-à-vis regular exchange.
