Pakistan Iraq Agree to Strengthen and Expand Multidimensional Cooperation

    Baghdad: Foreign Minister Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in Iraq on an official visit from 5-7 June 2023, where he was received by Iraqi Deputy FM. Bilawal is undertaking his maiden visit to Iraq at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Iraq Dr. Fuad Hussein.
    He called on President of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal in Baghdad today. They appreciated the trajectory of bilateral relations and agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
    FM Bilawal met with Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Shia Al Sudani and conveyed best wishes to the leadership and people of Iraq. They agreed to further strengthen multidimensional cooperation and to further cement brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iraq.
    Bilawal Bhutto called on  President of Al-Hikmet Party of Iraq Ammar Hakeem. they
    discussed the historical, religious & cultural linkages, deep-rooted in mutual respect & understanding.
    FM had a meeting with  head of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq SheikhDrHamoudi & discussed various ways to enhance bil. coop. especially in enhancing trade & investment. The discussions focused on efforts for peace & stability of the region and beyond.
    He called on Minister of Interior of Iraq Lt. Gen. Abdulamir Kamel Al-Shammari. They agreed to further strengthen people-to-people contacts, visa abolition on specific categories & facilitation for Pakistani Zaireen & business community, cooperation in counter terrorism and anti-anrcotics.
    Pakistan and Iraq enjoy close and cordial relations based on mutual respect and shared values.
