Pakistan Kazakhstan Speakers Agree to Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation

Geneva : Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y. Koshanov and the newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met on the sidelines of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.The parties discussed the bilateral agenda, prospects for further interaction, including the regional format.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis congratulated his counterpart on his election to a high post, expressing his best wishes in connection with the spring holiday of Nauryz and the Holy month of Ramadan.

Mr. S. Sadiq once again, on behalf of the Islamic Republic, thanked his colleague for the humanitarian assistance provided by Kazakhstan in connection with the flood that hit the country in the summer of 2022.

For his part, Y. Koshanov invited his Pakistani counterpart to visit Astana on an official visit this year.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain regular working contacts to further strengthen parliamentary ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
