ISLAMABAD : 10 Feb 2026 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a desire to benefit from Indonesia’s experience regarding the Sovereign Wealth Fund model.
He was talking to the five-member Indonesian delegation led by Minister for Investment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, that called on him in Islamabad today.
Both countries have agreed to accelerate efforts to transform the preferential trade agreement into a comprehensive economic partnership agreement by 2027.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is eager to further improve its economic relations with Indonesia, as both countries have decades-long fraternal relations that are growing stronger with time.
On this occasion, he expressed best wishes for the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and said that his visit to Pakistan last year was extremely useful and productive in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
On his part, Indonesian Minister Rosan Roeslani reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to further advancing bilateral relations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kiani, were also present on this occasion.
