Islamabad: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed the distinguished guest Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan at MOFA. The guest arrived to attend OIC Conference on Afghanistan.
The visiting dignitary called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.During the meeting, bilateral relations, regional situation and issues of mutual interest were discussed.
FM Qureshi said that ” Pakistan and Uzbekistan have deep fraternal ties based on common historical, religious and cultural values.Pakistan seeks long-term strategic partnership with Uzbekistan.Early implementation of interim trade agreement between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will significantly enhance bilateral trade relations.”
Foreign Minister stressed the need to promote communication cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan
The two ministers agreed that direct flights between the capitals of both Pakistan and Uzbekistan would further strengthen people-to-people contacts.
Uzbek Minister of Transport Mahkumov Al-Khom congratulated the Foreign Minister and the Pakistani leadership on hosting an extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and thanked Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the warm welcome.
