Pakistan will Stand always with Azerbaijan through Thick & Thin ; Talha Mahmood

Convener of Pakistan Azerbaijan Friendship Group in Senate of Pakistan,Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Cabinet, Mr Talha Mahmood has reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Azerbaijan on Nagorno Karabakh issue. He has said that Pakistan will always stand shoulder by shoulder with our brotherly country Azerbaijan through thick and thin. He has congratulated Government , soldiers and people of Azerbaijan on their victory over the aggressor Armenia.

He stated this in his keynote address to a selected gathering of youth, media, intelligentsia, civil society and diplomats at Islamabad Club on 18 Nov 2020. It was a seminar on “Nagorno-Karabakh conflict—Military & Political Resolution” hosted by Measac Research Center Islamabad. Ambassador H.E Ali Alizade, Defence Attache Col Mehman Novrozlu and staff were also present.

Earlier , Chairman Measac Mr Abdullah Hameed Gull shed light on the background of the issue and Brig R Abdul Rehman Bilal gave a detailed presentation to the awareness and information of the participants. A documentary was also screened in which President Ilham Aliyev’s stance on the issue was highlighted.

Ambassador Ali Alizade thanked Pakistan and Turkey for their principled diplomatic, moral and political support during the aggression of Armenia. He appreciated Pakistani Media and Press for their role when Azerbaijan was target of aggression.He termed this relation as relation of trust and brotherhood.

Ambassador regretted that some western powers were supporting Armenia despite the fact its occupation was declared unjustified and illegal even by the UN and the world body had passed a number of resolutions asking the country withdraw from the occupied territory.

“According to the ceasefire agreement signed by the Russian and the Azerbaijan Presidents and the Prime Minister of Armenia, the Armenian troops have withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh while the adjacent territories would also be evacuated in next 15 days.” H.E Ali Alizade continued.

“Now as the war is over and the Armenian troops have withdrawn or are withdrawing from the occupied territory, we welcome peace as war is not in the interest of a country or nation,” he stressed.
