BAKU/ Azerbaijan : 18 Feb 2025 – Pakistani delegation, led by Senate Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Raza Gilani, participated in the 15th Asian Parliamentary Assembly and held meetings with various delegations from different countries.
These included the Speaker of Bahrain and his delegation, the Speaker of Iran and his delegation, the Speaker of the Imani Parliament and his delegation, as well as the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan. Ambassador Khazar Farhadov was also present in the meeting.
During these meetings, Chairman Gilani exchanged views and briefed the delegations on Pakistan’s development. He emphasized that Pakistan values its friendship with these countries and is committed to strengthening bilateral relations.
He further stated that Azerbaijan, the host country, is not only Pakistan’s neighbor but also a brotherly nation, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
Meeting between Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chairman of the Shura Council of Bahrain was held in Azerbaijan.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani met with the Chairman of the Shura Council of Oman Khalid Hilal Naseer Al Maawali.
Members of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel Khan, MNA Khurram Shahzad Virk, MNA Erfan Zafar Laghari, MNA Farhan Chishti, Senator Talal Chaudhry, and other parliamentarians participated.
Discussions were held on bilateral relations, trade, and investment between Pakistan and Oman, setting the course for future collaboration.
Pakistan offered immense investment opportunities. The delegation invited Omani side for partnerships in agriculture, information technology, defense, production, and tourism sectors.
