Pakistan’s Habib Rafiq company, Uzbekistan’s Investment Ministry ink cooperation memorandum

ISLAMABAD : Pakistan’s conglomerate Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd (HRL) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure development.

The MoU was signed at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade in Tashkent, in presence of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Sh. Kudratov, Deputy Minister Shokhrukh Kh. Gulamov, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the HRL Group Muhammad Aslam Malik and senior officials from both sides.

Through this agreement, Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in infrastructure development, smart city projects, and industrial initiatives, while promoting sustainable growth, technology transfer, and long-term economic partnership.

The HRL delegation visited the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and held a meeting with Minister Laziz Sh. Kudratov and Deputy Minister Shokhrukh Kh. Gulamov. The delegation included HRL’s CEO Muhammad Aslam Malik, Adviser Luis Fernandez Reyes Gonzalez and Adviser to the Chairman HRL Khalid Taimur Akram.

During the meeting, Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd, one of the largest conglomerates in Pakistan with a diversified portfolio across construction, engineering, and real estate development, and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed opportunities for collaboration in large scale infrastructure development, smart city initiatives, and industrial cooperation aligned with Uzbekistan’s long-term development vision.

The HRL delegation also shared its extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure, engineering, and real estate development projects across Pakistan and internationally, highlighting its capacity to support Uzbekistan’s modernization and urban development goals.

Here it is worth mentioning that President Uzbekistan in his address to Oliy Majlis share his vision on the exapnstion of the cities. Uzbekistan is working on sustainable city program in which the cities of population 250 thousand will be taken special care if exapansion is needed to save the agriculture land. In Pakistan, unbridled housing schemes have been launched compromising the food security of the nation by exploiting the cultivated fertile lands.
