PTI MNA Kanwal Shauzab is receiving threats on her WhatsApp number from a UAE-based cell number that her video will be released on social media if she does not pay US dollars 50 K to the unknown blackmailer. She has shared that someone from UAE sim +97156-7888095 is regularly sending text messages and harassing mostly at midnight time which has shattered her peace of mind.
Kanwal has sought the attention of concerned authorities of UAE to identify on whose ID the SIM is registered there. She has also called upon the Cyber Crime Cell of FIA to initiate an investigation in this regard.
” Political opponents of our Party are experts in making fake videos only to defame us because the people of Pakistan have rejected them. PTI has challenged their hegemony and they want to take revenge by defaming the close companions of Imran Khan,” Says Kanwal Shauzab in response to the threats.
It is very unfortunate that Politics in Pakistan has become a disgustingly dirty game. Easy and free publicity option on social media has put everyone, especially women politicians at all time risk to be threatened and defamed for what they have never done or for being a woman only.
According to the blackmailer, as what he/she has sent to Kanwal on WhatsApp, it is some social media handling firm or company whatsoever that has been approached by some opponent of Kanwal Shauzab to make a fake video with the help of photoshop or whatever.
The blackmailer offers that he/she will include some hints in the video that would lead the watchers to the result that it is a fake video.
Kanwal has categorically rejected the generous offer of the blackmailer.
“I know the blackmailer is just trying to harass me but I will not spare him. He will see who he has challenged. I will definitely take him to justice. We are a dignified family. The people involved in such dirty things should think that they also have mothers and sisters at their homes. How they will feel if the same is done with their women,” said Kanwal.
Experts say that deep fake technology can easily reshape the faces into any other faces required to be made the target of defamation.
Here it is also worth noting that in spite of taking all security measures UAE Sims are still easy to acquire without providing an original ID.
