PTI MNA BLAMES 2 GOV ENVIRONMENTALISTS OF RUINING THE ENVIRONMENT @ UN CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENT

Islamabad; 25 Nov 2021 – Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Rana Tanveer Hussain has ordered an investigation into the fight between Zartaj Gul and Amin Aslam during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).

During the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), PTI MNA Riaz Fatyana revealed that Zartaj Gul, Minister of Climate Change, and Amin Aslam, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Climate Change, had a fight during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).

After the fight, the minister returned to her home in Glasgow, Riaz Fatyana shared. He further criticized the officials saying that Pakistan’s representation at the Glasgow Conference was substandard due to the incompetence of officials. The delegation from Nepal and other countries was not received by any officer in the Pakistan camp.

Riaz Fatyana is PTI MNA from NA 113 Toba Tek Singh. His son and wife are Members Punjab Assembly. He is close to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Malik Amin Aslam termed the news of the dispute as baseless and misleading and said that the discussion held by Riaz Fatyana in the Public Accounts Committee was false.

Malik Amin Aslam clarified that Zartaj Gul had to return due to his participation in the joint meeting on which it was said that crores of Pakistani rupees were lost in the conference. Not a single rupee of Pakistan was spent on Glasgow conference.

Amin Aslam said that he was unable to understand why Riaz Fatyana was misunderstood even though Riaz Fatyana himself had reached the NGO sponsor without invitation. The Pakistani pavilion was the busiest center in the conference. ۔

He said that bilateral meetings were held with about 50 climate change ministers. At the conference, the US President appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and the British Prime Minister himself visited the Pakistani pavilion.

No response was appeared from Zartaj Gull in the press till the story was published.
