Romania Ready to Support Mediation De-escalation Efforts of Pakistan in the Middle East

ISLAMABAD : The Foreign Minister of Romania in a telephonic conversation with Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has conveyed Romania’s readiness to support mediation and de-escalation efforts of Pakistan in the Middle East.

Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Toiu appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating the Islamabad talks. Both leaders welcomed the positive momentum in Pakistan-Romania relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, agreeing on the importance of continued dialogue and diplomacy for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

FM Romania shared on her X ;

I have just concluded a call with DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar .We discussed the regional developments in the Middle East, including the recently held Islamabad Talks. I thanked Minister Ishaq Dar for Pakistan’s sustained mediation efforts, alongside regional partners, that led to the ceasefire agreement and prevented further military escalation in the region.

We agreed on the necessity to return to a state of stability and security in the broader region. Reaching the conditions for the reopening the Strait of Hormuz to unhindered naval traffic is our shared priority.

I conveyed Romania’s readiness to support mediation and de-escalation efforts and continue our coordination with regional and international partners. We also agreed to continue the dialogue on developing our overall bilateral cooperation.
