Group Captain Asim Tariq shot dead by abductor who was trying to drag a girl onto his Bike @ E9 in front of PAF headquarters at Margala Road – Nimra is the name of the girl
That is the reality of the safe city of Islamabad, that is the capital city of Pakistan and the area under discussion here is the most protected area withing the capital city as all around are the headquarters and offices of Pakistan air force and Pakistan Navy and other military installations etc.
Group Captain Asim saw a woman dismounting from a motorcycle while the rider was pulling her by the arm. Acting as a responsible citizen, Asim turned back; as he stopped near the motorcycle, the young woman ran to the other side of his vehicle.
The accused, Saad, exchanged heated words with Group Captain Asim and, within moments, opened fire. Asim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The police took the woman involved—identified as Nimra—into custody and began questioning her.
Nimra stated that the accused was a colleague who had offered to take her to work but had intended to divert the route and take her elsewhere; Group Captain Asim had intervened in time to ensure her safety. The martyred Group Captain Asim is survived by his widow, a daughter, and a son.
Following the incident, Group Captain Asim Tariq’s body was shifted to the Pakistan Air Force Hospital (Unit 2), while Additional SHO Siddique and Duty Officer Naveed from the Margalla Police Station immediately arrived at the scene to collect evidence and initiate an investigation.
Here it is worth mentioning that mostly the sons and daughters of military officials and other highly placed and well to do families study in these universities. On sunday the universities are closed. Therefore this unfortunate incident can not be seen as friendship affairs or such situation between the students. Whatever it is , will soon come out after investigation with the girl and the killer will also be soon arrested.
Nimra was traveling with her wretched “friend” from Khanna Pul Expressway when the incident occurred. They had stopped at that location and were arguing with each other. The victim intervened, which angered the killer; he then pulled out a gun and shot the officer dead. The coward himself fled the scene.
Anyhow, the incident again tells us, no need to intervene in others affairs , human life has no value here ……………………………
