Strengthening Interbank Cooperation Between Uzbekistan and Pakistan

KARACHI: Ambassador of Uzbekistan, during his visit to Karachi, held a substantive meeting with Jamil Ahmad, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan. Sides exchanged views on the current state of interbank cooperation between two countries and discussed the prospects for further development.
The conversation covered opportunities to expand collaboration in the financial sector, the modernization of payment systems, and the mutual interest of banks in Uzbekistan and Pakistan in deepening professional exchanges. Sides emphasized that a resilient financial architecture is a key pillar of our growing economic partnership.
Mr. Jamil Ahmad noted that Pakistan’s leading financial institutions are genuinely interested in enhancing cooperation with Uzbekistan and highlighted the importance of steadily advancing the understandings reached during previous high-level engagements.
At the conclusion of the meeting, sides agreed to continue discussions through a videoconference between the Central Bank of Uzbekistan and the State Bank of Pakistan.
Ambassador has expressed  confidence that expanding financial cooperation will play a significant role in strengthening the economic partnership between two countries and will open new opportunities for business and investment.
