Dushanbe (NIAT Khovar) – 159 Tajik citizens who were in temporary detention centers for foreign citizens the past few months were flown from Yekaterinburg to Dushanbe on 26 May 2020.
The bodies of two citizens were transported in the same flight for burial in Tajikistan.
Priority is on returning Tajik citizens who have been in temporary detention centers for the past three months, reports the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.
All the remaining Tajik citizens in temporary detention centers in Russia will be flown to Tajikistan this week.
On 23 May 2020, 194 Tajik citizens who were stranded in Turkey due to the cancellation of international flights resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have been repatriated to Dushanbe.
Per President Emomali Rahmon’s instructions, a decision was made to implement a plan for the phased repatriation of citizens who were abroad when the borders were closed.

They were brought by a special Air India flight from Delhi.
