ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk – The book launch ceremony of the artistic and journalistic work “Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance – The Concept of Development” by Pakistani journalist and author Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan was held on 11 December 2025 at the National Library of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.The event was organized by the Center for Sustainable Development in Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Tashkent.
The ceremony brought together a distinguished gathering of senior government officials, scholars, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of academia, students, and civil society, reflecting the wide interest in the book’s central theme of renaissance, enlightenment, and human- centered development.
Among the keynote speakers were Mr. Khayriddin Sultanov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Speechwriter; Mr. Murtaza Solangi, Spokesperson for the President of’ Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Mr. Azmat Ziyo, Director of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Senator of the Oliy Majlis; Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator for Trade and Industry of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Mr. Ahmed Farooq, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan and Mr. Sardor Radjabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with other prominent participants.

The speakers highlighted the book’s key ideas, noting that the concept of the Third Renaissance is rooted in the rich spiritual, scientific, and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and the wider region.
They emphasized that the renaissance is presented not merely as a historical phase or political initiative, but as an enduring and universal concept-one that transcends time and promotes enlightenment, knowledge, dialogue, and cooperation as the foundations of sustainable development.
Special attention was drawn to the fact that the preface of the book has been written by the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, underscoring the importance Pakistan attaches to Uzbekistan’s renaissance vision and the growing intellectual and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Addressing the gathering, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Farooq, Ambassador of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, described the Third Renaissance as an eternal idea that defies the dictates of time. He underscored that true renaissances are born when societies rediscover their intellectual curiosity, spiritual depth, and commitment to knowledge.
Referring to the shared civilizational heritage of Pakistan and Uzbekistan, he highlighted the contributions of great scholars, scientists, and thinkers of the region and noted that the book serves as a bridge between history and the future, encouraging cooperation over conflict and enlightenment over ignorance.
The event concluded with the ceremonial presentation of the certificate of “Honorary Member of the Writers’ Union” to Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan, in recognition of his contribution to intellectual discourse and cultural dialogue.
The ceremony ended with a group photo session, marking the occasion as a significant milestone in strengthening cultural and academic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
