Lahore, December 22: A special event, dedicated to the renowned Turkish Sufi poet Yunus Emre, was organized by the Ghazali Education Foundation. The ceremony, held at the Quaid-i-Azam Library, saw the presence of Turkish Consul General Darmish Bash Togh, Country Director of the Turkish Culture Center, and Yunus Emre Institute, Dr. Khalil Toqar, along with other esteemed personalities.
During the event, Yunus Emre’s profound impact on Turkiye’s modern establishment and his contributions to cultural and historical ties between Pakistan and Turkiye were acknowledged. Speakers paid tribute to Yunus Emre’s personality and poetry, emphasizing his role in promoting a universal message of love and humanity. They urged individuals to transcend surface-level differences and embrace a compassionate attitude towards one another.

Executive Director of the Ghazali Foundation, Syed Amir Jaffari, underscored the necessity to globally promote Turkish language, culture, and arts. He commended the Yunus Emre Institute for its outstanding role in Pakistan, particularly in creating educational scholarship opportunities for cultural exchange and fostering an understanding of Turkish culture.
Syed Amir Jafari highlighted the memorandum of understanding signed between Ghazali Education Foundation and Yunus Emre Institute, aiming to boost language and culture promotion.
This agreement is poised to provide students with valuable opportunities for learning. Literary figures such as Salma Awan, Abbas Tabish, Farrukh Sohail Goindi, Amna Mufti, Zahid Munir Amir, Kashif Manzoor, and others actively participated in the event.
