Turkmen Foreign Minister holds meetings with Ambassadors of USA, China, Russia

Ashgabat: – Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Mr. Rashid Meredov held meetings with Ambassadors of USA, China and Russia on January 26, 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting with Ambassador of USA Mr. Matthew Steven, the parties considered a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as touched upon international and regional topics of mutual interest. The diplomats also exchanged views on the agenda of the annual bilateral consultations planned to be held in the near future.

Drawing attention to the importance of economic cooperation between the two countries, the parties stressed the need to hold the next meeting of the Turkmen-American Business Council in 2022.

In meeting with  Ambassador China Mr. Qian Naicheng, the diplomats discussed the results of the online summit “Central Asia – China”, held on January 25 this year. In this regard, the parties considered specific issues related to the implementation of the agreements and initiatives of the Heads of State, announced during the above-mentioned Forum.

Ambassador of  Russian Federation Mr. Alexander Blokhin also called on the Foreign Minister. The parties discussed issues of further development of Turkmen-Russian relations, exchanged views on regional and international issues.

In this context, the expediency of intensifying political and diplomatic cooperation at the level of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries was emphasized.
