ISLAMABAD: – Prime Minister of Republic of Uzbekistan , Abdulla Aripov participated in the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad on 16 Oct 2024.
He was warmly received at the venue of the meeting by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Both leaders held a short discussion on the status of bilateral relations. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and expressed their satisfaction on cordial atmosphere on both sides for enhancement of the cooperation.
In 2022, the then Prime Minister Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif attended annual meeting of the heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) held in the historical city of Samarkand on September 15-16.
PM Abdulla Aripov had welcomed him on the airport. PM Shehbaz held meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the sidelines of the Summit. On 16 Oct 2024, at the SCO HGC meeting both PMs cherished their memories of 2022.
Federal Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari warmly received and later saw off the guest Prime Minister at PAF Base Nur Khan in Islamabad. Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev and his team were also present at both occasions.
On arrival, the children dressed in traditional attire presented bouquets of flowers to the foreign dignitary. A red carpet was rolled out to welcome the guest, underscoring the importance of the event and the cordial relations between the two nations.
The two-day meeting of SCO CHG, the second highest forum within the SCO, was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as the current chair of the Council.
