It is often said that Venice is a city of love. Business trip from the company provided me an opportunity to visit this beautiful and gorgeous place, a dream land! Venice, part of the city is literally located in the water, where walking and boating are the only way to go around. Upon arrival in Italy on the outskirts of Venice near Marco polo Airport, I was welcomed by dreary, stormy, drizzly and cold weather on November 22.

The rooms in the hotel are small but amazingly all amenities are squeezed in the compact area. Houses, apartments, roads and even cars are small. I was impatiently looking for a single big SUV, a gas guzzler utility type vehicle, popular in Saudi Arabia but I was without any luck. City is clean, people are welcoming, but one thing was noticeable, and uniquely admiring, cars immediately stop at pedestrian walking lines on the roads as soon as a person starts crossing the road. No honking horn and no visible fuss by the drivers!
Love certainly has a presence in Venice. Young, newly married, lovely, shy couples who have eyes filled with love, their faces are glittering and excitement is unbelievable. They are walking holding-hands and talking in a jolly and convivial mood with no future concerns in their mind, it is time to enjoy the present! Colorful scarves are fluttering around long necks, beautiful dresses are on the display, couples are laughing and smiling without any reason! They all behave lovey-dovey, appearing intoxicated with wine of love and affection.
Well, visiting Italy means enjoying Gelato ice-cream , whether it is one scoop or two scoops doesn’t matter, it is not to miss, one of the essential rituals in Italy.
Summer and spring appear to be good times to make a trip to Venice but autumn and winter could be a great time as well for those who might prefer to shiver in the cold but would like to avoid the crowds and hustle-bustle of summer and spring. Well, chilly air can give romantics the excuse to huddle together, enjoying the cozy, lovely and merrymaking of Venice’s indoor spaces.
It is mind blowing and amazing to see old buildings standing intact in the middle of water. It appears that city dwellers used natural wood pilings for supporting foundations where all kinds of infrastructure have been visibly holding on for centuries. Boats are used to transport people and everything else, people always find a way to survive! Where there is will, there is a way!
This business trip will end tomorrow, routine office life will kick off but sweet and dreamy memories will stay alive! I definitely will be visiting this lovely and gorgeous place with my family soon.
