Victory Day of Turkiye Celebrated in Islamabad with Solidarity from Pakistan

    Turkish and Pakistani brothers and sisters celebrated Turkish Victory Day on 30th Aug in Islamabad expressing solidarity with each other and praying high place in Jannat for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and well-being of their homeland and countrymen. They paid homage to the great leadership of Mustafa Kemal, Ata Turk, and listened to the message of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan read by Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci.
    The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye Dr. Mehmet Pacaci and Defence Attache, Brig. Mehmet Suha Oztekin hosted a reception on this auspicious occasion. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza was the chief guest at the occasion. National anthems of both countries were played and a memorial cake was cut by the guest.
    President Erdogan, in his message, shed light on the struggle of the Turk nation for freedom that is necessary for a bright future. He discussed when you have to choose between slavery and independence. When you select freedom you have to offer sacrifices. Turk nation offered sacrifices of lives for freedom once in the past 100 years ago to achieve the great victory on 30th Aug 2022 and the second time on 15th July 2016.
    The President analyzed the status of Turkiye in the present world of global crisis. He said that Turkiye is gaining her place in the comity of nations. Our experts are breaking records in different spheres. Turkiye is playing her role in the solution to regional issues. We are grateful to the leader of the independence war Mustafa Kemal and we pay homage to the martyrs of the motherland.
    Victory Day (Turkish: Zafer Bayramı), also known as Turkish Armed Forces Day (Turkish: Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri Günü), is a public holiday in Turkey commemorating the decisive victory in the Battle of Dumlupınar, on 30 August 1922. August 30 Victory Day in Türkiye aims to commemorate the significant victory of the Turkish army against the Greek forces at the Dumlupınar Battle in 1922). The outcome of this battle which took place in Kütahya city was very decisive.
    On 15 July 2016, a faction within the Turkish Armed Forces, organized as the Peace at Home Council,[32] attempted a coup d’état against state institutions, including the government and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.[33] They attempted to seize control of several places in Ankara, Istanbul, Marmaris, and elsewhere, such as the Asian side entrance of the Bosphorus Bridge but failed to do so after forces loyal to the state defeated them.
    The reception was hosted at Serena Hotels Islamabad in which high officials of all three wings of the Pakistan Military were present. Defense Attaches from other countries were also invited in big numbers. Parliamentarians, civil society, the business community, and media persons also attended the reception.
    On the special occasion of this Victory Day of the Republic of Turkiye (30 August Zafer Bayrami), the Government and the people of Pakistan reaffirm their abiding solidarity and unflinching support for the brotherly people and the government of Turkiye.

    This day, a hundred years ago, the great Turkish nation secured the ultimate victory by defeating foreign occupation and imperialism. Unyielding determination, courage and unity exhibited by the Turkish nation laid the foundation of Turkiye’s liberation, independence and national sovereignty.

    On this occasion, we pay special tribute to the great Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who inspired and led his compatriots to one of the most brilliant victories in the world history.

    In their heroic struggle against the foreign occupation through the war of Independence, the valiant Turkish nation was wholeheartedly supported by the Muslims of South Asia.
