Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov will undertake an official visit to Islamabad on 8-9 May 2024.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Saidov will call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and hold in-depth talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on a wide range of bilateral issues of mutual interest, with special focus on trade and connectivity.
The visit of the Foreign Minister of Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to provide fresh impetus to the friendly relations between the two countries.

Uzbekistan has made many efforts so far to reconnect the two regions Central and South Asia through people to people , business to business and gov to gov interactions. Pakistan has always reciprocated in the same warmth and welcoming gestures.
Uzbekistan was the first country in the whole Central Asia to start direct flights to Pakistan. The flights were stopped during COVID-19. The restoration of flights operation is under consideration.
Uzbekistan is interested in early completion of Trilateral Train Agreement Uzbekistan Afghanistan Pakistan Railway for which all three parties are enthusiastic as the project is in the best interest of all member countries as well as for the two regions.

Pakistan offers the closest access to the ports of sea trade to Uzbekistan. Pakistan offers Uzbekistan to join CPEC. The bilateral cooperation exists in defense, agriculture, culture, education, science technology and other sectors.
Uzbekistan is the most populated country in the Central Asia. The country is emerging economy of the region. Above all Uzbekistan is the gateway to all Central Asian Republics and Eurasia.
Both countries have many high level meetings bilaterally and at the sidelines of international conferences in the recent months and years. Both states have common understanding on regional and international issues and support each other at every level.
The visit of Foreign Minister Uzbekistan will further increase already cordial relations and will enhance meaningful cooperation in trade and economic spheres. The traditional historical bonds between the two countries have always proved to be catalyst in building the new basis of bilaterally beneficial ties.
