There were continued reports of arrests of the protesters who were condemning Israel onslaught on Gaza from different parts of Islamabad but the incident happened between Monday and Tuesday night took two precious lives of the participants of a solidarity sit in with Gazans and injured severely four others including Inspector of Police on duty. Who did it and is anyone behind it? are the major questions being raised by the organizers of the sit in the former Senator of Jamat e Islami and journalists as well.
A speedy 4X4 Land Rower car crushed 2 persons to death while injured 4 others while they were asleep at the site of sit in Save Gaza protest at the Red Zone of Capital city on Monday. Two killed are Mohammad Roman Sajid Student of Islami University and Sheikh Imran of Rawalpindi, 40 to 45 years old whose head crushed totally while Mohammad Talha Ilyas, Hamad Hassan and Faisal Hayat along with Inspector Ijaz Ahmed are injured.
Who was in the killer car? Why FIR was not registered after the incident what the organizers of the protest allege? What is the name of the Car driver? Which department the Car belongs to? Why its number is not being shared? Finally when his name was included in the FIR, why the father’s name has not been noted? Is he son of some big gun?
Former Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan was present at that time. The car was at the police barricade when Mushtaq Khan asked the Police to fire at the tire so that he could not run away but the Police did not react and said that they do not have guns.
” The car belongs to a sensitive agency while the drive is son of some very high official, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said in a video shared on his face book page.
He further said, “We have asked for the CCTV footage of the incident. If they are not provided , we will march towards Prime Minister House.”
Save Gaza is non political organization that is protesting in Islamabad for last 8 days. Mushtaq Khan is there for solidarity while other known religious and political leaders have been participating in this sit in. The participants remain at the site round-the-clock and also sleep on the road. Over two dozen protesters were asleep when the accident happened.
The participants of the protest were sleeping on a portion of Jinnah Avenue between Express Chowk and the old Parade Ground. The streetlights of the area were switched off when the incident occurred.
The Police said, “At around 2:45am, a speeding car appeared on the road, ran over five participants and then crashed into a police barricade and hit the inspector.”
The driver tried his best to ran away  towards Ayub Chowk via Attaturk Avenue but a patrolling team  caught the driver and shifted him to the Kuhsar police station.
Mushtaq held the government and Islamabad police responsible for the incident, demanding the arrest of those accountable for the attack on the peaceful sit-in, which had been ongoing for eight days.
He also called for the immediate registration of an FIR. “This is not a political sit-in. The purpose is to awaken the government and raise our voice in support of Palestine,” he stated.
The funeral prayer for the deceased JI worker, led by Mushtaq, was held at D Chowk and attended by numerous party workers and supporters.
Earlier the Police had arrested many workers from the sit in for violation of Section 144.
Dozens of supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) staged a protest outside the office of Islamabad police chief, calling the incident a “planned act.”
The organizers of the sit in have prepared a bill board carrying portrait of Roman Sajid Shaheed and installed it at the site of the protest adding more to the anger of the participants against the perpetrators of the incident, if any.
