The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is celebrating the 78th Founding Anniversary of the DPRK. The Embassy in Islamabad hosted a reception to mark the day with friends of North Korea on 07 Sep 2026.

President Zardari felicitates Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on 78th Anniversary of the Founding of Republic
Islamabad: 09 September 2026 — President Asif Ali Zardari has extended felicitations to the President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, and the people of the DPRK on the 78th anniversary of the founding of the republic.
The President, in his letter, highlighted that Pakistan and the DPRK enjoy cordial relations based on mutual trust and goodwill.

President Zardari expressed firm confidence that bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of both nations. He conveyed his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
At the reception , Barrister Aqeel Malik , State Minister for Law and Justice was the chief guest while Director General Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ASEAN and Pacific Shahid Ali Seehar was also present.
The Minister in his address reaffirmed the spirit of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and the DPRK.
On political parties’ affiliation side, Senator Nayyar Bukhari , the Secretary General of Pakistan People’s Party participated in the celebration.
Ambassadors of Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Philippine, Russia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic,Myanmar, Vietnam also graced the event with their presence.
