30th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was celebrated in Islamabad, Pakistan with a common resolve of taking the bilateral relations to new heights, establishing direct communications between the two countries. Mr. & Mrs. Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador hosted a grand reception at Marriott Hotel to share the happy moments of Kazakh nation with Pakistani brothers and sisters, attended by large number of government officials, members of Parliament and Ministers. Both sides expressed deep desire of further strengthen mutual cooperation in all fields.
The Chief Guest was Mr. Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Minister Information while Minister Railways Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan Swati and Minister of National Food Security Mr. Syed Imam also graced the event with their presence. Ambassadors , Military Attaches, representatives of Kazakhstan diaspora, experts and representatives of Pakistan business community also attended the reception. Pakistani press representatives were also present.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Fawad, in his keynote address shed light on the history of bilateral relations and high level delegations interaction including between Prime Minister Imran Khan with Kazakh leadership in previous couple of years. The Minister further shared that Pakistan is keen to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan in all spheres.He said that Pakistan offers friendly investment environment.
Mr. Fawad especially noted that both countries are playing their constructive role in international fora as well including UNO, SCO, ECO and OIC. He said that Kazakhstan can use our two major ports Gawader and Karachi for her imports and exports. He diluted on Customs Union as well in which Kazakhstan offers support for Pakistani trade to wards Central Asia and Eurasia.
The Minister highlighted the importance of road and railway communications being established between Pakistan and Central Asia. He mentioned railway line agreement between Uzbekistan Afghanistan and Pakistan. He urged the international community to contribute in saving Afghanistan to avoid a destruction for the whole region. He said it is common issue of the neighboring countries in particular and international community in general.
He concluded his remarks by highly appreciating the peace-loving foreign policy and socially oriented internal policy of Kazakhstan.
Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin having noted the fact that Pakistan was one of the first foreign states to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan, paid attention of the guests to the main achievements of Kazakhstan over the years of independence. The Ambassador also stressed the role of the First President of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev and his invaluable contribution to the State formation.
Besides, the Rotary Club of Islamabad hosted an exhibition of paintings by children with special needs.
At the end of the reception, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Pakistan, Ms. Dilyara Kempirbayeva, was solemnly awarded the “4th Global Ambassador Award Ceremony” in the nomination of “Best Young Diplomat”.
