Islamabad, 27 September 2022 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin met H.E. Mr. Raja Pervez Ashraf, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Ambassador spoke about the current bilateral agenda, events held in 2021 and 2022, as well as the plans for bilateral cooperation until the end of this year.
The parties highly appreciated the meeting between the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K.Tokayev and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Sh. Sharif at SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting in Samarkand (the Republic of Uzbekistan).
The importance of developing parliamentary diplomacy, and strengthening ties between the legislative bodies of Kazakhstan and Pakistan was emphasized.
In addition, the head of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan informed the Speaker about the results of the Sixth Congress of Traditional and World Religions Leaders, held in September this year in the capital of Kazakhstan. The Ambassador also spoke about the upcoming CICA summit. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Sh. Sharif has already confirmed his participation.
For his own part, the Speaker of the National Assembly noted the importance of Kazakhstan and bilateral cooperation with our country, emphasizing the huge untapped potential in the field of trade and economic, as well as cultural, humanitarian, scientific, and technical cooperation. Raja Pervez Ashraf also expressed his readiness to provide all possible support to the further strengthening of cooperation between the fraternal countries.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also spoke about the political transformations and constitutional reform carried out at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a visit of the Parliament delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Islamabad before the end of this year.
