“The Book of Words” by Abai Kunanbai translated into 4 official languages of Pakistan’s provinces

Astana, December 21, 2023 – The two-day 12th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation (JIC) has concluded.
During which the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Kistafin, presented for the first time “The Book of Words” by Abai Kunanbai translated into 4 official languages of Pakistan’s provinces – Pashto, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Balochi- as well as a Kazakh-Urdu-English phrasebook.
The translation of the work of the Great Kazakh thinker was initiative of the Embassy and carried out in collaboration with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), while the phrasebook was developed and published through cooperation between NUML and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Al-farabi-kaznu).
In a ceremonial gesture, H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin presented the published books to the heads and members of the Kazakh and Pakistani delegations.
