The decision of International Court of Justice about the actions of Israel on Gaza was a historical success of Palestinian martyrs but it could not make any impact in Islamabad the capital of Pakistan , a country that first of all termed the Israeli war on Gaza as “GENOCIDE”.
The ICJ ruling was warmly welcomed in Pakistan by the government and people of Pakistan but no mentionable activity has been observed by the representatives of Palestine,on their own part so far in Islamabad. Interviews or participation in initiatives of the media itself are other thing. One can hardly see any article, show, documentary on Palestine Israel post ICJ ruling. What is the cause of this indifference when it was the real time to highlight the issue?
It is strange in a sense that Pakistan is the only country in whole Muslim World not allowing her citizens to visit Israel for any purpose. Pakistan has not recognized Israel since her inception and there are no diplomatic relations between the two countries. Pakistan has always been strong advocate of Palestinian’s right to their own independent state as well as right to live in peace.
The historic ruling by ICJ went futile almost, just like other documents,resolutions and agreements etc that have been signed and announced so far. The Genocide is continued with no check from any side while Pakistani media’s attention also shifted to other issues than Gaza Genocide.

The least demand of ceasefire only has not been accepted by Israel , let alone the punishing measures be taken after the ICJ verdict. Israel has resorted to more aggression in shape of targeting the displaced Palestinians in Rafah refugee camp. That clearly means , the ruling of ICJ has not bothered Israel at all.
The World including Pakistan has many other issues to work upon. The lethargy expressed by the friends of Palestine in Islamabad has sent a message to the concerned circles that it is ok , no need to continue the pressure on Israel.
Iran Pakistan escalation then normalization, election in Pakistan and other matters took more space and time in Pakistani media during last month that was crucial period to raise awareness in Pakistani public and opinion makers about what is the ruling of ICJ, what impact it can create on Israeli aggression against innocent civilians of Gaza and what the champions of human rights and peace are supposed to do now.
Here it is also pertinent to note that Pakistani media and press was not contacted or engaged in any activity that could have served the purpose of keeping the ICJ verdict alive to be implemented as soon as possible.
Pakistani media and press is always ready to provide time and space for Palestine but it is expected from the representation of Palestine in Islamabad to take initiatives as well and expand its working with media as a whole and not in a selective way.
