The last blow to the claims of free and fair election on 08 Feb 2024 has been struck by none other than Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chattha. He has resigned from the seat and asked to arrest him and he is ready to be hanged for what he has done on the behest of Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan and Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Liaqat was the boss of all returning officers in Rawalpindi division and he has admitted that all 13 candidates of PTI (Independents ) were winning with 60 to 70 thousand votes. We changed the results that is equal to traitory to my country.
He said ,” Today morning after prayer I was about to commit suicide. I have committed a crime. I should be punished accordingly.”
Commissioner admitted that 13 MNA candidate who have lost the election are in fact winners and we made them lose through rigging. He said my R.Os were crying when ordered to change the results.
Here it is also worth noting that Commissioner Liaqat is about to retire already in next 25 days.
Commissioner said , ” My ancestors fought independent movement against the British. I can not do any traitory to my country. That is why I present myself for accountability.”
He hinted at the situation like 1971 when United Pakistan broke into two pieces. He said “I don’t want to be part of the same”
He said, ” I suggest all bureaucracy not to do anything wrong for the politicians who are ready to be ministers.”
Spokesperson Punjab government, information minister Aamir Mir, brother of renown journalist, Hamid Mir was contacted for his stance. He said, ” This is not a reality but claim of a mad person. Liaqat is retiring on 13 March 2024. He is seeking some political career after retirement. A person who says he was about to commit suicide can not be trusted. Why he did all wrong and did not exposed at that time.”
Chairman PTI Barrister Gauhar has welcomed the press statement of Commissioner but cleared that we will check the statement and will further devise our strategy. He said the statement of Commissioner can be the reason to declare election null and void and re-election in Rawalpindi Division at least.
Meanwhile PTI workers have started protests in different cities of Pakistan. The call was given by the leadership one day ago but the statement of Commissioner has further ignited more wrath and fire in the agitations. It can lead to large scale protests in few hours jamming the country and closing the main roads that is routine in Pakistan.
Election Commission of Pakistan
A special meeting of the Election Commission was held on the allegations of rigging in the election by Commissioner Rawalpindi in which honorable members of the commission participated. Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Member Election Commission Punjab Babar Hasan Bharwana participated in the meeting online.
In the meeting, the allegations leveled by Commissioner Rawalpindi were discussed and a high-level committee was formed to investigate these allegations. It was decided to form a committee, which will be chaired by a senior member of the Election Commission, while the committee will include the secretary, special secretary and additional director general of law.
This committee will record the statements of the DROs of Rawalpindi and the relevant ROs in this regard and will submit its report to the Election Commission within three days.
Most probably the ROs will contradict Commissioner’s “revelations” in their statements ………..The only way to push the dirt under the carpet.
Another side of picture has been shared by a private TV channel “Suno” that ; The grand daughter of Commissioner Liaqat is active worker of PTI in London who has been collecting funds for PTI and protesting in front of residence of Nawaz Sharif in London. Liaqat’s son got married in Lahore that was highly lavish wedding. The expenditures were paid by Mian Aslam Iqbal leader of PTI in Punjab.
Renown property tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain’s name again came to limelight. He is said to be behind the abrupt move of Commissioner Liaqat. For that , Liaqat was funded by the owner of Al-Jalil Builders who is said to be a partner of Malik Riaz as well as father of his daughter in law. Commissioner Liaqat is said to be front man of Malik Riaz.
Malik Riaz Hussain has categorically rejected the allegation. He has said in his statement that I have nothing to do with anything. Media is attributing the matter to me for no reason.
“It is so unfortunate that every time chaos happens in Pakistan, everyone starts pointing finger at me or my organization without any rationale,logic or proof. I have never met or contacted Liaqat Chattha. I have no links to him, neither social nor business. The accusations by PMLN regarding my involvement with Liaqat Chattha are false and unfounded. I am available for an inquiry in this regard. As a Pakistani, I am only praying for stability and prosperity in the country, said Malik Riaz Hussain.
Liaqat Chattha got US Visa for 5 years recently from Feb 2024 to Feb 2029. He will retire after few days on 13 March 2024. He was the boss of Billions rupees mega projects in Rawalpindi, Ring Road project is one among them. An inquiry is about to start in corruption of these mega projects. These points are also under consideration of different relevant circles.
Faisal Wada, former minister of Imran’s cabinet has shared that Liaqat Chattha was made to issue his statement on the behest of PTI. It is notable here that the only beneficiary of Liaqat’s statement is PTI.
Interestingly PTI the champion of justice as the title of party means, but no one from this party has asked for immediate action against the Commissioner while he has admitted high treason. This speaks a lot about there is no one for justice but all are for their own interests only.
