Ambassador of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has termed China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC as the culmination of the time tested friendship and deep rooted cooperation between the two countries. He has reaffirmed China’s commitment to Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He has appreciated Pakistan’s support on Taiwan and said that Japan has stolen our territory.
The Ambassador was addressing to the guests at a special event held in connection with 73rd anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations at the “Friendship Forever” event held at the Pakistan-China Friendship Center. FM Dosti Radio and CGTN media hosted the event jointly in which a large number of Chinese and Pakistani citizens were present.
Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China Ms Naghmana Hashmi also expressed her views on exemplary cooperation and special connection between the two countries.
Ambassador shared the details of facts and figures of benefits of CPEC for Pakistan. He said that the game changer project has attracted $ 25.4 Billion investment in roads, energy, overall infrastructure and employment.

“CPEC generated .236 Million jobs, constructed 510 Kilometer Highways, production of 8 thousand MW electricity, 886 Kilometer long transmission network, Gwader port, Gwader hospital and Desalination Water Plant are also parts of CPEC, Ambassador noted.
He said our bilateral relations were developed in 1951 but the milestone was the visit of President Xi Jinping in 2015 when the CPEC project was inaugurated.
“CPEC has become an important platform and a well-known name card for all-round cooperation between the two countries.It has brought substantial investments, jobs, and infrastructure improvements to Pakistan, Ambassador said.
Ambassador expressed optimism for the future, noting that both nations face similar challenges and opportunities. He said ,”We are ready to work with the Pakistani side to promote China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership to a new level and achieve new results.History will remember that China has always been Pakistan’s strong backing when Pakistan was in need.”
Ambassador Jiang reiterated the One China principle and addressed the situation in the Taiwan Strait. He condemned the “separatist fallacy of ‘Taiwan independence” and said that a just cause enjoys abundant support while an unjust cause finds little support. Relying on foreign countries to seek independence is doomed to failure.
Ms Naghmana Hashmi shared her experiences of working in Beijing two times in her career, first as a diplomat and then as Ambassador. She highlighted importance of China in the light of Hadees of our Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) who said ” get education even if you have to travel to China.”
A heart catching cultural performance was also part of the event. The spacious hall of Pak China Center was full of the participants that depicted the close bonds between the people of both countries. A large number of the guests consisted of Pakistani youth.
Miss Tabassum (Urdu name) of Dosti FM Radio also addressed the audience. She welcomed the Ambassador and other speakers to the event and managed the ceremony in the most befitting manner.
