Ahmed Ataf receives his Ethiopian counterpart in Algeria to research bilateral cooperation and African files
ALGEIRS / Algeria : The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Ataf, received at the ministry headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Gideon Timothius, as part of an official visit to Algeria on 29 July 2025.
The talks between the sides focused on assessing the reality of Algerian-Ethiopian relations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the positive dynamics they are witnessing, especially after the outcomes of the fifth session of the Joint Government Committee held last April in Addis Ababa.
As ministers have sought ways to enhance bilateral coordination on issues of priority on the AU agenda, they reaffirm their joint commitment to deepening the African joint work.
The parties exchanged views on developments in the coastal regions and the Horn of Africa, amid agreeing on the need to support African solutions to meet security and political challenges in the region.
