Pakistan Signs Agreements with UNODC, UNIDO, IAEA @ UN Office Vienna

VIENNA / Asutria : 17 Feb 2026 – At the United Nations Office in Vienna , Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar signed the “UNODC Country Programme for Pakistan (PAKCP4)” with Acting Executive Director John Brandolino @JohnBrandolino.

The ceremony, witnessed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif , marked an important step in strengthening Pakistan’s partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime UNODC.

Ishaq Dar  signed the “Collaborating Centre Agreement between the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology (INMOL), Lahore, and the International Atomic Energy Agency” with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi @rafaelmgrossi. The DG presented a plaque designating INMOL as an IAEA Collaborating Centre.

Ishaq Dar signed the “UNIDO Programme for Country Partnership Pakistan 2026–2030” with Mr. Yuko Yasunaga, Deputy Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization @UNIDO, at the United Nations Office in Vienna @UN.

Witnessed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif @CMShehbaz, the agreement reinforces Pakistan’s strong engagement with @UNIDO and the broader UN system.

DPM/FM Pakistan met Dr. Brigitta Blaha, who served as Austria’s Ambassador to Pakistan (2014–2018). During that period, Pakistan and Austria signed the “Protocol and Additional Protocol amending the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income” in Islamabad in 2015, when DPM/FM was serving as Finance Minister.

The DPM/FM also met his Dr. Werner Fasslabend, former Austrian Defence Minister, and Ambassador Dr. Gabriela Sellner, Austria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna.

United Nations Vienna noted on the social media , ” We welcome the Prime Minister of #Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, to #UNVienna today for a special event on sustainable development as the pathway for global peace and prosperity.
He was welcomed by the heads of: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), UNODC – United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization and a senior representative from UNIDO – United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
