ISLAMABAD : H.E. Mr. Emmamuel R. Fernandez, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines accompanied by Ms. Rain R. Mendoza, Third Secretary and Vice Consul, visited Board of Investment and paid a courtesy call Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister for Investment.
The Ambassador briefed the Federal Minister about the ongoing regulatory and economic reforms in his country and level of economic cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the need to increase bilateral trade between the two countries.
The Federal Minister thanked and appreciated the keen interest of Ambassador of Republic of Philippines to increase bilateral trade between the two countries to the true potential of two countries. He also highlighted the Ambassador about the Assan Karobar Act paving way for much need Regulatory Reforms in Pakistan.
Mr. Mahmood Tufail, Director General, BOI briefed about the Regulatory Reforms journey being undertaken in Pakistan by Board of Investment. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Additional Secretary, BOI proposed exploring the possibility to sign a MoU between the two Board of Investments of Pakistan and Philippines.
The Federal Minister invited the Ambassador to the Convocation of FAST University to be held on 16th November, 2025 at his hometown Chiniot.
