ISLAMABAD : Staff Reporter – Ambassador of Romania, Dr. Dan Stoenescue has shared Romania’s economic story and why it is increasingly attracting the attention of global investors, in his engagement with Pakistani business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce where he was welcomed for discussion on prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.He mentioned that s one of the largest and fastest-converging economies in the European Union, Romania combines full access to the EU Single Market, competitive production costs, and solid long-term growth prospects.
Ambassador said, “With a population of nearly 19 million, a strategic position at the crossroads of the EU, the Balkans, the Black Sea and the Middle East, and steady convergence toward Western Europe, Romania offers both scale and stability.”
“This momentum is further reinforced by tens of billions of euros in EU recovery and cohesion funds, supporting infrastructure, digitalization, energy and industrial development across the country, Ambassador added.
The discussion in Islamabad confirmed the strong interest of Pakistani businesses in Europe and the potential to deepen Romania–Pakistan trade and investment ties. Romania is open for business, ready to build partnerships, and keen to turn dialogue into concrete economic projects.
