Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam of IR Iran has highlighted the ignorance of US President Trump regarding the nuclear program of his country referring to the statement of the Supreme Spiritual leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Imam Khomenei.
He has said that Imam Khomeini clearly stated after the Iranian revolution that Nuclear Weapons are not according to the teachings of Islam. But Mr. Trump is bent upon proving a thing that we ourselves consider non islamic and we do not have any intention to develop a nuclear bomb as Iran continuously said our nuclear power is for civilian purpose only.
H.E shared this in his keynote address at the ceremony held at the Embassy in Islamabad to commemorate the 37th demise anniversary of the leader of the revolution on 02 June 2026.
Prominent Pakistani personalities were present at the occasion and shared their views on the leadership of Imam Khomeini and Iran’s courageous role in thwarting US , Israeli joint invasion in connivance with some local partners. They included Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Liaqat Baloch and others.
Ambassador expressed gratitude to Pakistan’s political and military leadership for their support of peace and constructive engagement.
He praised the Pakistani people for standing in solidarity with Iran during challenging times and described the relationship between the two neighboring countries as strong and historic.
Ambassador shed light on the history of US + Israeli conspiracies against Iran going deep into the past from strikes , inciting agitations and latest invasion while the sides were already engaged in dialogue through mediation of Oman. He said Israeli and American ministers admitted that their agents were present in the protests in Iran.
Dr Moghaddam said, despite the loss of senior leaders and military commanders during periods of conflict, Iran remained determined and united. The Iranian nation had not been intimidated by external threats and had continued to pursue its strategic objectives with confidence.
The ambassador said that Iran has consistently advocated dialogue and diplomacy while maintaining its right to defend itself.
He appreciated the efforts of friendly countries, including Pakistan, in supporting peace initiatives and facilitating dialogue during times of regional tension. He said such efforts contributed positively toward maintaining regional stability.
President Pak China Institute, former Minister Information, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayyed , said that Iran’s response to external aggression demonstrated the strength and unity of its people. He argued that recent developments in the region had significant implications for the international balance of power and had highlighted the growing importance of regional actors in shaping global affairs.
He further stated that Iran has emerged as an influential regional power and noted that Pakistan and Iran have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations.
Mushahid Hussain Sayyed, while praising Iran’s success in the third imposed war, said that the roots of Iran’s perseverance lie in the comprehensive thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA), his mystical, divine and God-knowing personality, and the wise leadership of the martyred Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (RA).
Former President Milli Yakjehti Council of Pakistan, Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that today the path and thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA) are alive in the hearts and minds of all those who want to live a life in a world free from oppression and domination and with honor and dignity.
Former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaquat Baloch said that Imam Khomeini (RA) is not limited to any one society or country, but his path and thoughts are a lesson for all freedom-loving nations of the world, so today we all need to re-study Imam Khomeini’s thoughts.
Former Pakistani ambassador to Iran Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Senator Kamran Murtaza (Jami’at Ulema-e-Islam), Member of the National Assembly Sahar Kamran (People’s Party), Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi (Tehreek-e-Bidaari Ummat Mustafa) , Abdullah Hameed Gull , Uzma Hameed Gull were also present in the commemoration.
Pakistani speakers shared that Iran has emerged as a major force in the Middle East and continues to challenge what they described as the agenda of global powers seeking dominance in the region. Iran has played an important role in countering efforts aimed at reshaping the political landscape of the Middle East and has demonstrated resilience in the face of political, economic, and military challenges.
They argued that Iran’s resistance has altered regional dynamics and strengthened the position of countries seeking greater independence in international affairs.
Speakers paid rich tribute to Imam Khomeini and emphasized that the Iranian nation continues to remain steadfast in following his vision and ideology while standing firmly against global hegemonic powers. They highlighted Imam Khomeini’s role in shaping modern Iran and described his teachings as a source of strength and inspiration for the Iranian people.
They said that Imam Khomeini’s philosophy, inspired by the principles of Imam Hussain (AS), has enabled Iran to resist external pressure and play a significant role in supporting oppressed communities, particularly the Palestinian people.
