Kyrgyz Republic elected member of UNSC for 2027–2028

ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk – The Kyrgyz Republic achieved a historic victory in the elections of non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2027–2028.

Kyrgyzstan considers this victory as a strong expression of reliance by the international community, as well as a great responsibility before all Member States of the United Nations.

During its membership in the United Nations Security Council, the Kyrgyz Republic intends to consistently promote priorities aimed at strengthening international peace and security, preventing conflicts, developing preventive diplomacy, supporting peaceful settlement of disputes, enhancing the role of small and developing States in the international system, and taking into account climate, water, mountain and environmental challenges in the context of global security.

The president of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov have expressed  sincere gratitude to all States that supported our candidacy and reaffirm our commitment to serve as a responsible, constructive and open partner in the United Nations Security Council, acting in the interests of peace, stability and strengthening of multilateralism.

The Kyrgyz Republic has expressed its special appreciation to the Republic of the Philippines for its dignified participation in the election campaign and constructive competition conducted in the spirit of mutual respect and commitment to the principles of the United Nations.
