ISLAMABAD : Monitoring by Tazeen Akhtar – After signing a big defence deal with Pakistan Army, the media on General Haftar’s side is sharing the reports and articles that Pakistan Army is the best and Libya will benefit from the cooperation developed during Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit. Libya – The Vision of Umar Mukhtar is leading in this regard.
This media shared the speech of FM Pakistan that is being shared here for our readers :
Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir:
“As I said last night to my brother Saddam, every piece of equipment and technology we have is available to our brothers. Any assistance you need will also be available at your doorstep.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked the Libyan National Army for the warm reception he received during his visit, praising the leadership of Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar and the professionalism of Libyan forces.
He said that Libya and Pakistan share a long and respectful relationship dating back to the 1960s, noting that Pakistani military and air force instructors have been working in Libya for decades.
He added that Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar’s visit to Pakistan two months ago played a key role in reviving this historic partnership and encouraged his own visit to Libya.
(The visit was in late July 2025)
Field Marshal Munir warned that the world has become increasingly hostile, particularly for Muslim countries, pointing out that several Muslim nations have been devastated in recent years by conflict, betrayal, and foreign conspiracies.
He stressed that Islam began with the command “Read in the name of God”, but knowledge alone is not enough, strength and deterrence are also necessary to protect nations.
He urged Libyans to remove fear from their hearts, saying that courage is the first step to success. Referring to career of Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar, he said he once stood against powerful militant forces with only 150 men, and today with persistence and courage look where is he now ?
Munir also stated that Muslim countries should not expect access to advanced military technology from Western states, arguing that such technology is often restricted by Israel.
Pakistan, he said, learned this lesson long ago and chose to develop its own defense capabilities rather than rely on foreign powers.
He highlighted Pakistan’s growing self-reliance in military technology, stating that during a recent air confrontation with India, Pakistani forces showcased the strength of domestically developed capabilities by successfully shooting down multiple advanced fighter aircraft, including French Rafale, Russian Su-30 and MiG-29, and Indian Mirage 2000 jets, in a brief engagement.
He emphasized that Pakistan is ready to share its experience, technology, and assistance with Libya under the leadership of Saddam Haftar.
Beyond defense, Field Marshal Munir said Pakistan would encourage its companies to invest in Libya in sectors such as construction, mining, and other strategic industries.
He expressed confidence that Libya is moving toward a period of strength and stability under the leadership of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar.
He concluded by stressing that strong armed forces are the ultimate guarantee of a nation’s survival and sovereignty, describing Libya as a land of brave men, shaped by the legacy of national hero Omar Mukhtar. (The speech ends here – Lt Gen Saddam Haftar was also present at the occasion)
This address by Pakistani Field Marshal is enough to conclude that :
1- Pakistan is looking at Haftar and Sons as the Right Rulers and Future of Libya.
2- Pakistan Embassy in Tripoli has been abandoned (in a sense)
3- Pakistan may open a representative office in Haftar’s side (if not Two in One Country or Transfer one from Tripoli to Tobruk)
4- Pakistan Foriegn office has to prepare for a very hard work to justify the bypassing of UN Embargo as well as to convince Turkiye in coming days
5- There is no information about who is Ambassador of Pakistan in Tripoli as former Ambassador from military, Mag Gen R Anjum Enayat completed his tenure soon after the visit of General Saddam Haftar to Pakistan.
