Islamabad: Ambassador of Ethiopia, Mr. Jemal Beker briefed the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the African Head of Missions based in Islamabad on the current situation of Ethiopia, particularly the reignited war by TPLF in the Northern part of Ethiopia’s Amhara and Afar regions.
It is unfortunate that TPLF reignited the war by recruiting child soldiers, creating human weaves, and playing victimhood gambling as usual through its cheap tactics.
It is very amazing that they looted humanitarian relief for Tigray People and worsened the humanitarian crisis in the Tigray region by diverting the resources to their militants. Hence, the Government of Ethiopia has a constitutional responsibility to uphold and protect the tragedy unfolding upon our citizens.
Hence, it is imperative that the international community should play their constructive roles in pursuing TPLF to continue the AU-led negotiations to end these unwanted conflicts peacefully and reach a sustainable negotiated truce.
Indeed, we should not let and allowed the TPLF to destabilize and destroy our country and nations at this particular time of history. To this end, we all Ethiopians from all walks of the corner stand hand in hand and defend our sovereignty.
On the other hand, the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the African Head of Missions took note of and understood the Government of Ethiopia’s positions on the recent developments in Northern Ethiopia and applauded it.
Furthermore, they appreciated the Government of Ethiopia’s commitment to end the conflicts under the AU-led auspices and acknowledged the legitimate actions of the government to protect and defend the security and safety of its citizens.
