Ambassador Russia hosted By Bahria University Islamabad on Bilateral Relations ! Discussion Expanded to Dispute with Ukraine

ISLAMABAD : Ambassador Albert P. Khorev delivered a lecture on Russia-Pakistan relations to students of Bahria University that basically belongs to Pakistan Navy. The lecture was on bilateral relations topically but it went beyond that and dispute with Ukraine was also discussed by the Ambassador with the students.
It is first time that a dispute between two countries on which Pakistan is neutral and enjoy cordial relations with both has surfaced in some educational institution with the students. The foreign office or the government of Pakistan have never stated anyone right or wrong in Russia Ukraine conflict.
The Ambassador highlighted that, despite the difficult nature of international relations, cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad has always been constructive. Professor Adam Saud hosted the lecture who was present at the occasion.
Ambassador shed light on the  industrial projects implemented in Pakistan with the support of the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s, including the construction of the Karachi Steel Mills and the Guddu Thermal Power Plant.
He emphasized that modern Russia-Pakistan relations are characterized by increasingly dynamic political, economic, and humanitarian contacts.
Ambassador Khorev also updated the students on the situation in and around Ukraine.
He focused on the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis and the destructive role of Western countries in destabilizing the Eurasian region. Ambassador also drew the audience’s attention to the Russian Federation’s vital efforts to uphold the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
On the sidelines of the event, the Ambassador met with the Rector of Bahria University, Vice Admiral Abid Hameed HI(M). The parties discussed the prospects of developing partnerships with relevant Russian universities and expressed interest in continuing academic cooperation.
