Rawalpindi : 27 Aug 2026 – Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan H.E. Timothy Kane visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), where RCCI President Usman Shaukat, along with Vice President Fahad Barlas, warmly welcomed him. Director Trade & Education Mr. Azhar Shah also attended the meeting.
President Usman Shaukat briefed the High Commissioner on RCCI’s major events and upcoming activities, highlighting the Chamber’s initiatives to promote trade, investment and business linkages. He identified significant opportunities for enhanced Pakistan–Australia cooperation in pharmaceuticals, information technology, gems and mining, agriculture and livestock, education, and vocational training.
H.E. Timothy Kane emphasized the longstanding people-to-people ties between Australia and Pakistan, while highlighting the potential for stronger collaboration in food security, water management, climate resilience and education.
The High Commissioner noted that Australia currently has more than 22,000 active Pakistani student enrollments, reflecting strong educational and people-to-people connections between the two countries. He also highlighted more than four decades of agricultural collaboration, underscoring the depth and continuity of bilateral cooperation in this vital sector.
